Olympic Campaign
| Genny is currently the #1 Ranked skipper on the US Sailing Team Alphagraphics in the Women’s Match Racing discipline, and the #3 ranked skipper in the Olympic World Cup Rankings. She is training hard and competing at every level with aims to secure the US berth and ultimately the gold medal in London in 2012. Genny’s team just won the US Women’s Match Racing Championships in St. Thomas, beating Anna Tunnicliffe’s team 3-1 in a thrilling finals. Earlier this year she finished 2nd in the BoatUS Santa Maria Cup, behind #1 Ranked ISAF Match Racer Claire Leroy, but ahead of last year’s Match Racing world Champion Katie Spithill. In March Genny’s team went undefeated (18-0) at the Rolex Women’s Match Race in St. Pete. In January she placed the top American at the first event of this quadrennium to host Women’s Match Racing, the Rolex Miami Olympic Classes. Last fall she won the Carlos Aguilar Memorial Regatta against great competition including previous MR World Champion Liz Baylis and Beijing Olympic Gold Medalist Anna Tunnicliffe.
At the end of this year she will have competed in match racing events in San Francisco, St. Petersburg and Miami Fl, Fort Worth TX, Newport RI, Annapolis MD, Kiel Germany, Weymouth England and St. Thomas, USVI. Next year she will be taking on the Olympic World Cup events as well as some other open and women’s events on the match racing circuit. An Olympic Campaign is no small venture, and Genny needs all the help she can get in offsetting the costs to make this dream a reality.
